1. "YOUNG" — Indie Feature Film (Texas)

What they're looking for: Two emotionally complex female leads, ages 19–45, for a coming-of-age drama. The project is looking for actors who can carry quiet, vulnerable scenes with authenticity.

How to submit: Through Backstage (backstage.com). Search the project title and submit your headshot, resume, and a brief self-tape per the breakdown.

Shoot dates: Casting is active throughout August; filming begins in September in Texas.

Why this one stands out: This shoots right here in Texas, which means no cross-country travel and a real opportunity to build a local film credit. If your strength is dramatic, character-driven work, this is worth your time.

2. "Final House" — Feature Film (Action-Horror)

What they're looking for: Adult and child leads plus background performers for a zombie apocalypse thriller. Both union and non-union talent are welcome to submit.

How to submit: Virtual auditions are being held August 15–23. Check Backstage and Casting Networks for the full breakdown and submission link.

Audition dates: Virtual auditions run August 15–23; filming is scheduled for October in Los Angeles.

Why this one stands out: Virtual auditions make this accessible from anywhere. If horror or action is in your wheelhouse — or if you're a parent with a young performer ready for their first feature — this is worth a look.

3. "Chicago" — Broadway (Equity Principal Replacement)

What they're looking for: Equity actors for principal replacement roles including Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart. Prepare a brief song in the style of the show. An accompanist is provided; no dancing at this call.

How to submit: In-person EPA (Equity Principal Audition) only.

Audition date: Friday, August 21, 2026 — 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Location: Actors' Equity New York Audition Center, 165 W 46th St, 16th Floor, New York City

Why this one stands out: Chicago is one of Broadway's longest-running shows and a career-defining credit. If you're an Equity member with the chops and can be in NYC on the 21st, this goes to the top of your list.

4. The Lion King — Broadway & National Tour (Equity Chorus Call)

What they're looking for: Singers for the chorus of The Lion King Broadway production and national tour. Prepare one brief classic R&B, pop, or rock and roll song — do not sing material from the show. Bring sheet music and a stapled headshot and resume.

How to submit: In-person at Pearl Studios, 500 8th Ave, 12th Floor, New York City.

Audition date: Thursday, August 13, 2026

Males: 10:00 AM | Females: 2:30 PM

Why this one stands out: A national tour credit with one of the most iconic productions in musical theater history. If you're a strong singer who can be in New York this week, do not sleep on this one — August 13 is this Thursday.

5. Prather Productions — Non-Equity Musical Tours (Oklahoma, Grease, Come From Away)

What they're looking for: Performers for three touring musicals. This is a non-union call, making it a strong opportunity for emerging musical theater actors building their touring resume.

How to submit: In-person auditions.

Audition date: Sunday, August 16, 2026 — 10:00 AM

Location: Broadway Palm, Fort Myers, FL

Why this one stands out: Three shows, one audition day. If you're a non-union musical theater performer ready to go on the road, this is a high-value day. Come From Away in particular has a reputation for building strong ensemble careers.

6. American Idol — Season 25 (Singers, Ages 15–28)

What they're looking for: Singers between the ages of 15 and 28 who are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. Prepare two to three songs — at least one upbeat and one ballad. Choose material that showcases your range quickly.

How to submit: Two options:

• Online video submission at americanidol.com/auditions

• Idol Across America virtual auditions — live Zoom-style calls with producers

Key Texas date: September 8, 2026 — Texas/South Central Open Call (TX, OK, KS, NE, ND, SD). There is also a nationwide open call on August 31 and a final nationwide open call on September 28. VIP slots (first 250 to register) open August 25.

Why this one stands out: National television exposure with a path to a recording deal. For vocalists ages 15–28, there is no bigger platform in the country. The virtual format means you can audition from anywhere in Texas without traveling.

7. Energy Safety Campaign — Commercial (San Antonio, TX)

What they're looking for: Featured non-speaking roles across several looks:

• Mature couple (Hispanic/Latino, ages 50–70)

• Younger couple (Caucasian, ages 25–35)

• Homeowner (Black/African American, ages 38–43)

How to submit: Via allcasting.com. Search current San Antonio commercial listings to find the active breakdown.

Pay: $500 per day (talent works one day)

Shoot dates: August 18–21, 2026

Why this one stands out: This shoots right here in San Antonio, pays well for a featured non-speaking role, and is a legitimate commercial credit. If you match any of the looks listed, move quickly — this week's timeline is tight.

8. Liquor Brand Stills Campaign — Commercial Model (Philadelphia/South Jersey)

What they're looking for: Stylish, confident models ages 25–35 for a stills-focused brand campaign. The vibe is polished and aspirational.

How to submit: Through Casting Networks (castingnetworks.com). Search current commercial model calls in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area.

Pay: $4,000

Shoot dates: August 25–26, 2026

Why this one stands out: One of the better-paying commercial calls active right now. If you're a model with flexibility to travel and your look fits, this is worth the trip.

9. Fox Sports Promo — Background & Stand-Ins (New York City, SAG-AFTRA)

What they're looking for: SAG-AFTRA background talent and stand-ins of all ages (6–80) for a Fox Sports promotional shoot in New York City.

How to submit: Through Casting Networks (castingnetworks.com).

Shoot dates: August 15–17, 2026

Location: New York City

Why this one stands out: Background work on a major network sports promo is a real credit, and for non-union performers this is a SAG-AFTRA voucher opportunity — a meaningful step toward eligibility.

10. RWS Global Musician Auditions — Cruise Ships & Live Events

What they're looking for: Musicians and vocalists for cruise ship and live event engagements with RWS Global, one of the largest entertainment production companies in the world. They work across Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Disney, and other major fleets.

How to submit:

• Virtual audition: This Thursday, August 13, 2026 — register at rwsglobal.com/auditions

• In-person audition: August 26, 2026, in Barbados

Why this one stands out: For musicians who want full-time performance work with consistent pay and the chance to travel internationally, RWS Global is one of the most respected pipelines in the industry. The virtual audition is this Thursday — register today if this is your lane.

A Few Reminders Before You Submit

• Never pay to audition. Legitimate casting calls do not charge submission fees. If a listing asks for money to apply, walk away.

• Tailor your self-tape to the breakdown. Generic submissions rarely move forward. Read what each project is asking for and shoot your tape to match it specifically.

• Keep your materials current. An outdated headshot or a cluttered resume can undercut a strong submission. If you're not sure yours are ready, ask your rep.

• Act fast. Several of the opportunities above have dates this week. Waiting until the weekend is waiting too long.
